Kota Kinabalu: Tabs Safa Bandaraya made a clean sweep in the Under-10 category of the Grassroots Power Shooter Tournament 2023 held at the Sukma field over the weekend.
Their teams finished in the top three position with Tabs A capturing the title after beating Tabs B 2-0 in the final, while Tabs C edged Old KK 1-0 in the playoff to finish in third place.
A total of 13 teams from the West Coast areas, Kota Belud and Labuan took part in the competition.
Tabs Safa Bandaraya also had a team taking the third spot in the Under-8 category which was won by AT KK team with AT Kota Belud in second place.
Deputy Chairman Lokman Sunggim said the success of their teams is the result of proper guidance and training from a very early age.
He added that the grassroots football development programme is very important for these players to develop their talents and they currently have players as young as six-year-old to 17.
He hopes some of these players will progress further to reach the state or national level in the future.
