Kota Kinabalu: Former Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (PKDM) vice president Datuk Ronnie Loh denied he exited from the party in order to remain as a director in the Sipitang Oil and Gas Industrial Park (Sogip) board.

He maintained it was due to inconsistencies and indecisiveness of party President Datuk Peter Anthony in deciding the direction of the party.

“He (Peter) is inconsistent. Today he wants to change the government, tomorrow he wants to support the government. This creates a negative perception among the people,” Ronnie said in a statement, Wednesday.

PKDM Information Chief Officer Dr Oswald Aisat Igau said Ronnie left because he wanted to keep his directorship in the Sogip board.

According to Ronnie, before PKDM was established, he wanted to form Parti Mesra Masyarakat Sabah as the founder and president which he had registered with the Registrar of Societies (RoS) in February 2022.

“However, Peter who had left Warisan contacted me and expressed his desire to take over the party’s presidency from me and pledged to grow the party and would not disappoint my hopes for him.

“So, I immediately agreed and went to the RoS in Putrajaya to change the name of Parti Mesra Masyarakat Sabah to PKDM.

“Upon my agreement, the party president was changed to Datuk Peter Anthony,” he said.
