Tangau: Not Sesb’s jurisdiction to stop renewable energy proposal
“Those who have the authority to reject such proposal is the Energy Commission. It is outside Sesb’s jurisdiction. We (Sesb) are just a utility company that is involved in power supply, said Tangau.
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (Sesb) never disapproved the proposal of solar panel installations on every house in Sabah as a mini-independent power producer (IPP), said Chairman Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau.

Tangau clarified that Sesb only operates as a utility company that has no jurisdiction in making such decision other than purchasing and supplying power to consumers.
