Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (Sesb) never disapproved the proposal of solar panel installations on every house in Sabah as a mini-independent power producer (IPP), said Chairman Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau.
Tangau clarified that Sesb only operates as a utility company that has no jurisdiction in making such decision other than purchasing and supplying power to consumers.
“Those who have the authority to reject such proposal is the Energy Commission. It is outside Sesb’s jurisdiction. We (Sesb) are just a utility company that is involved in power supply.
