SANDAKAN: The Sabah and Labuan MyPride Fair Programme realises the desire of the Malaysian Prisons Department (MPD) in empowering the rehabilitation of offenders in the community.

The programme is an MPD initiative to introduce and promote community vocational and industrial products by inmates who are currently in Phase 3 of the Rehabilitation Programme (Skills Program) at the Sabah and Labuan MDP.

Director of Prison Management at the Malaysian Prison Headquarters, Commissioner of Prisons (KP) Ajidin Salleh, said the MDP believes that providing skills to inmates can prepare them to reintegrate into society as productive citizens.

“In an effort to shape the personality of these prison inmates, we have formed skills to prepare these prison inmates to return to society after completing their sentence or undergoing community rehabilitation.
