TAWAU: A Komatsu 605 Grader heavy machinery caught fire at a plantation company on Apas Balung Road on Tuesday.

Tawau Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), Jemishin Ujin, said six firefighters and officer rushed to the scene, 37 kilometre from here after receiving an emergency call at 12.34 pm.

According to him, upon arrival at the scene along with one machinery tank and Emergency Medical Rescue Service, the grader was 80 per cent engulfed in flames.

“The fire department then brought the fire under control at 1.2pm,” he said.

No casualties were reported and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
