Kota Kinabalu: The Yayasan Sabah Group, through the Interior South Zone (ZPS) office, presented a Special Assistance Scheme (SBK) to 100 students of SK Kawang, Papar, on Nov 21.
The aid was presented by Yayasan Sabah Director, Dato’ Sri Haji Gulamhaidar @ Yusof bin Khan Bahadar. Each student received a set of school supplies, including school bags, exercise books and stationery.
“SBK is an effort by Yayasan Sabah Group to complement the government’s efforts in helping to reduce the burden on the families of students from the B40 group as well as the parents of e-kasih recipients through providing support in learning,” said Haji Gulamhaidar.
To date, 900 students have benefited from the assistance initiated by the Group through the zone’s office. SK Kawang is the final school to receive SBK for 2023.
He also advised the students to study hard to achieve excellent results so that they could apply for various educational sponsorships provided by the State and Yayasan Sabah Group.
Yayasan Sabah Group allocated RM122 million to sponsor 79,221 students at the secondary school level by 2022.
