The health ministry says the public should continue to take precautions to curb the increase in Covid-19 cases.
PETALING JAYA: The number of new Covid-19 cases increased by 28% last week to 2,305 from 1,801 recorded the week before, says the health ministry.

In a statement, the ministry said it expects a “slight increase” in Covid-19 cases following the recent festive celebrations.

Sarawak saw the most cases reported with 143, followed by Selangor (136), Kuala Lumpur (119) and Melaka (117).

However, the ministry noted there was a decrease in the number of Covid-19 cases that required admission to public hospitals to a rate of 2.0 per 100,000 cases for the week ending Nov 18.

“Always practise TRIIS (test, report, isolate, inform, seek) for those with symptoms,” it said.

“Those who test positive and are in high-risk categories should get treated with the antiviral Paxlovid at the nearest healthcare facility to reduce the risk of complications.”
