Kota Kinabalu: The National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) is seen as a complement to the National Energy Policy and can accelerate Malaysia’s aspirations towards net zero carbon emissions by 2050, according to academician Association Professor Dr Mohd Sani Sarjadi.
Mohd Sani, who is UMS Deputy Director (Strategy and Development Centre for Instrumentation and Science Services), said NETR can be a framework that guides the development and adaptation of green hydrogen energy in Malaysia.
“This includes the use of renewable energy resources such as solar and wind and green hydrogen,” he said in a statement.
He said green hydrogen has the potential to be the best alternative energy to replace fossil fuels in transportation.
