Kota Kinabalu: Sabah-based Layang-Layang Flying Academy (LLFA) will hold a three-day aviation event at its Tg Aru Old Terminal 2 campus Dec 8-10.
Some 2,000 people have registered for the event and the academy’s founder Johan Poong said the extravaganza promises a rich tapestry of activities designed to captivate and educate visitors.
He said the highlight of the event is the static display of Layang Layang Group’s aircraft, providing enthusiasts an unprecedented opportunity to get up close and personal with these state-of-the-art flying machines.
This display promises not only a visual feast but also serves as an educational platform, offering insights into the technological marvels that propel modern aviation, he said.
Johan said a drone display is also set to grace the skies, showcasing the agility and versatility of these unmanned aerial vehicles.
“Attendees can witness first hand the cutting-edge capabilities that drones bring to various industries, from surveillance to photography, and gain a deeper appreciation for the role they play in our rapidly evolving world.
“For those with aspirations to soar through the clouds, the open day offers engaging career talks on aviation,” he said, adding industry professionals and experts will share their experiences.
Johan said participants can step into the shoes of a pilot, experiencing the intricate manoeuvres and decision-making processes involved in navigating an aircraft.
The interactive session not only entertains but also serves as an educational tool, demystifying the complexities of aviation for enthusiasts of all ages, he said.
