Kota Kinabalu: Teams JR Horizon and Melempar ke Bintang from Sports School Malaysia Sabah emerged champions in the Datuk Mansur Asun - Youth and Sports Ministry Permanent Secretary Cup Five-a-side Under-16 hockey tournament held at the Likas Hockey Stadium over the weekend.
They captured the boys and girls cup titles respectively.
In second place in the boys category were Resilient A with HJR Phantom and Resilient B in joint third place while the girls runners-up spot went to D-Touch Eagle followed by Para Pemetik Bintang and Semi Hockey in joint third.
A total of 20 boys and girls teams took part in the tournament organised by Putatan Hockey Association in cooperation with Sabah Hockey Association.
In the plate category, D Touch Phoenix came top in the boys event, The Step Salapin took second spot and joint third place went to D’Touch X5 and SMK Kota Marudu B.
The girls plate title was won by Bintang di Surga followed by second placed West 23.25 Girl with D’Touch Sharks and PHB Miri in joint third.
SMK Kota Marudu A took the boys bowl title with Semi Hoki coming in second and joint third place went to SMK Inanam and Labuna Thunderstick.
The girls title went to Unggun Girls 2.0 followed by SMK Inanam in second place, Jesselton HT and SMK Inanam in joint third.
