Kota Kinabalu: The 3rd Golden Wind Award (Gowa) by the Kota Kinabalu Film and Video Association (KKFVA) will be held at the City Cineplex, Citymall, here, on Dec 14.
Organising Chairman Pentium Tee said the event would be attended by National Film Development Corporation (Finas) Chief Executive Officer Datuk Azmir Saifuddin Mutalib.
He said this after making a courtesy call to Kota Kinabalu Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KKCCCI) President Datuk Michael Lui, who is also KKFVA’s honorary advisor.
The courtesy call led by KKFVA President Chester Pang was aimed at briefing Lui on the Association’s update.
Tee said they received 25 video entries for the competition, and most have shown an increased quality in visuals and screenplay.
”However, only eight made it to the finals as most entries do not meet the competition’s theme, The Land Below the Wind or exceeded the duration limit.”
The winning short film will bring home RM10,000, while the second and third-place winners will receive RM5,000 and RM2,000, respectively.
Recognition is also given to Best Potential Actors and Actresses, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, and the People’s Choice Award.
