PETALING JAYA: Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) president Norza Zakaria has decided not to step down at the end of this year, Bernama reported.

His decision follows an appeal by youth and sports minister Hannah Yeoh to think it over.

Yeoh had said the 2024 Paris Olympic Games are just a few months away and badminton contributes the majority of Malaysian athletes in the Road to Gold (RTG) programme.

In July, Norza, who is also the president of OCM, announced that he would leave BAM after the Paris Olympics. However, he surprised everyone a month later by announcing his resignation at the end of this year.
