Jakarta Health Service records 200 Covid-19 cases per day in a week
JAKARTA: The DKI Jakarta Health Service recorded 200 positive cases per day of Covid-19 in the capital city this week, reported Antara news agency.

"Almost 90 per cent of positive Covid-19 cases in Jakarta are dominated by patients without symptoms and mild symptoms, you would recover during three to five days of self-isolation at home," the head of the Epidemiology and Immunisation Surveillance Department of the DKI Jakarta Health Service, Ngabila Salama, said here on Sunday.

Despite active cases, she assured the public that the number of hospitalised patients suggests Covid-19 is under control in Jakarta.

"The situation is still under control. The hospital occupancy rate is around five per cent of the total beds provided, or around 50-60 patients who are being treated in hospital (10 per cent of positive active cases in Jakarta)," she said.

People who want to get the vaccine can come directly to the location without prior registration, she added.

"All vaccine brands can be used for doses 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 without looking at the brand from the previous injection," she emphasised.

She noted that all vaccination services are ready to provide a free 5th dose of Covid-19 vaccination for all Indonesian residents aged 18 years and over, according to the circular letter of the Indonesian Ministry of Health on December 15, 2023.

"The government's current focus is protecting vulnerable groups by completing five doses of vaccinations and early detection," she said.
