SEMPORNA: A 12-year-old was killed after a Proton Persona crashed into him at Jalan Aman Jaya, here, Tuesday.
A State Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said it received a distress call following the incident at 1.16pm.
A team of rescuers from the Semporna Fire and Rescue Station was deployed to the scene with a fire engine and an EMRS vehicle.

“Upon arrival, the commander of operation reported that a pedestrian was involved in the incident.
The boy was pronounced dead by a Ministry of Health officer at the scene and the body was handed over to police for further action,” said the department.
The team then carried out further inspection on the scene and called off the operation at 2.43pm after ensuring no other dangers.
