SANDAKAN: There is enough supply of face masks, hand sanitisers and Covid-19 self-test kits in Sandakan, according to Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Sandakan Chief Enforcement Officer Azdy Zukkry John.
He said inspections on several pharmacies and premises in the district revealed that the demand for the three items has increased.
“We advise the public not to panic because there is a sufficient supply of these items,” he said.
“We also advise traders against hiking up the price of these goods just because of the current high demand,” he added.
According to him, inspections revealed that the items are sold at fair pricing, with some even sold at promotional prices that are cheaper.
He told the reporters this after monitoring the Christmas Festive Season Maximum Price Control Scheme 2023, here, Friday.
He said there is an adequate supply of goods for the holiday season and urged anyone experiencing a shortage to contact the KPDN for further action and help.
He also advised customers to report any incidences of profiteering concerning items included in the Christmas Festive Season Maximum Price Control Scheme 2023 to the KPDN.
