KOTA KINABALU: The teacher who posted offensive remarks about an autistic child in a WhatsApp chat group will be called in by the Sabah Education Department, reported the
New Straits Times.
Sabah Education Director Raisin Saidin was reported as saying that the teacher in Tuaran will be asked to explain the incident.
Earlier, the teacher posted a photo of the boy and harsh comments in a parent-teacher WhatsApp chat group.
The school teacher allegedly meant to send the messages to her colleagues but mistakenly sent them to the chat group on Jan 4.
The boy’s father spotted the posts and took screenshots before sharing them on his TikTok account.
The post has since gone viral and attracted numerous reactions from netizens.
It was reported that the teacher apologised to the boy’s father and wanted to settle it privately.
However, the boy’s father refused and complained to the Education Ministry through an online platform on Saturday.
