RM6mil graft probe involving Kedah FA in final stages, says MACC
MACC investigation division senior director Hishamuddin Hashim says no details will be released on its investigation into a corruption case linked to the Kedah Football Association.
PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) says it is in the final stages of its investigation into a corruption case involving over RM6 million linked to the Kedah Football Association.

MACC investigation division senior director Hishamuddin Hashim confirmed that Kedah menteri besar Sanusi Nor was summoned to the agency’s headquarters in Putrajaya this morning.

However, he said details of the investigation would not be disclosed to the public due to the sensitive and confidential nature of the probe.

Sanusi reportedly arrived at the MACC headquarters at around 8.30am and left without stopping for the media after spending three hours giving his statement to the graft busters.

Earlier this week, an MACC source said the anti-graft agency would summon Sanusi as part of its investigation into a corruption case involving over RM6 million.

On Saturday, Kedah FA vice-president Radhi Mat Din confirmed that its CEO, Zulkifli Che Haron, was among four men detained in an investigation into a corruption case involving RM6 million in 2020.

The RM6 million was reportedly given as a kickback to allow a company owner to obtain a tender to build a racetrack, and another project to operate and maintain five water reservoir plants in the state.

On Monday, Sanusi claimed he was MACC’s real target in its probe, alleging that the others who had been detained were merely “accessories” as “they” really wanted to link him to the corruption cases.

However, he did not specify who “they” were.
