Malaysia Sustainable Development Goals Summit Sabah Region at SICC January 25
Various activities will be conducted at the summit, including an exhibition, a career carnival, the YouthJoy expo, forums and plenary sessions with speakers representing various stakeholders 
Kota Kinabalu: The Malaysia Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Summit 2024 Sabah Region will be held on Jan 25 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC). 

Organised by the Sabah Economic Development and Investment Authority (Sedia), the summit aims to discuss efforts to streamline SDG into economic development activities carried out by the Government and private sector.

SDG is an agenda introduced by the United Nations (UN) since 2015 comprising 17 goals towards achieving a shared goal by all 193 UN Member States, known as “Transforming our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”. 

The summit will bring together all the stakeholders in developing Sabah’s economy and socio-economy, towards ensuring all development initiatives in the state from both public and private sectors are conducted in accordance with SDG.

Cosmobeauté Malaysia and beautyexpo will expand into East Malaysia with the launch of the Cosmobeauté Malaysia Borneo Festival 2026 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) from May 25 to 26.
With the theme “SDGs Local Actions for an Inclusive, Sustainable and Resilient Malaysia”, the topics covered will include sustainable growth, inclusive development, biodiversity preservation, food security and access to quality education, among others.

Various activities will be conducted at the summit, including an exhibition, a career carnival, the YouthJoy expo, forums and plenary sessions with speakers representing various stakeholders

The YouthJoy expo aims to raise awareness of the role of SDGs in improving Sabah’s development among the youth, especially teenagers and young adults. 

YouthJoy will comprise various pocket talks by stakeholders involved in development, the environment and rural community empowerment.

There will also be a Meet-and-Greet session with Korean Sabah FC soccer player Park Taesu, games and quiz activities, fashion shows, and traditional and cultural performances.

The event is part of the larger Malaysia SDG Summit 2023-2024 series, a programme by the Ministry of Economy to be held across five regions throughout Malaysia.
