KUANTAN: The navy today confirmed that some of its personnel have been summoned by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for questioning over a RM9 million construction contract at one of its bases.

Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) chief of staff Tan Sri Admiral Abdul Rahman Ayob said MACC had also confiscated some documents, which is understood to involve a project carried out last year.

“We have extended our full cooperation in the investigation. Let MACC continue with its job and we will wait for the results of the investigation.

“The navy will not compromise with any of its members involved in wrongdoing and they should be aware of the action they will face,” he said after the commissioning of KD Sri Sabah and KD Sri Sarawak at the Tanjung Gelang RMN base jetty here today.
