Kota Kinabalu: City Hall (DBKK) on Monday handed over the Occupation Certificate to SBH Kibing Solar New Materials (M) Sdn Bhd for its plant operating at Taman Perindustrian Kota Kinabalu (KKIP) here.
Kota Kinabalu Mayor Datuk Seri Dr Sabin Samitah represented DBKK while Acting Managing Director Ma Wen Tao received on behalf of SBH Kibing Solar New Materials (M) at the ceremony held at the Mayor’s Meeting Room, Third Floor, DBKK Building.
Dr Sabin said the handover of the Certificate of Occupancy showed DBKK’s commitment to ensuring that SBH Kibing Solar New Materials (M) can continue its first operation.
“This is a positive development for the industrial sector in Kota Kinabalu City as the company’s plant offers employment opportunities to people in the city and nearby areas to work in the plant that will produce solar photovoltaic (PV) glass with an investment worth RM3 billion.
“The overflow from this investment will certainly benefit the improvement of the economy of Kota Kinabalu City in general due to various aspects including technology transfer and the creation of jobs for the people of Kota Kinabalu City,” he said.
Dr Sabin said that apart from that, the plant would certainly help improve the State’s progress as a thriving manufacturing centre and stimulate economic development in the State.
Also present were DBKK Director General Junainah Abbie, DBKK Deputy Director General of Planning and Development, Abdul Manaf Rajikan, DBKK Deputy Director General of Finance Lifred Wong and the Deputy Managing Director of SBH Kibing Solar New Materials (M).
