Kota Kinabalu: A NGO has lodged a police report against a member of the public wanting to know whose interests it actually represents and whether it is truly involved in fighting for Sabah’s rights as its name suggests.

The critic in a Forum letter “Unsure Whose Interests This Sabah-based NGO Represents” had claimed the impression is that it appears to exist mainly for publicity and just to feel important.

The critic said 80pc of Sabahans are not aware that their rights are in need of protection, least of all by a NGO.

The writer claimed that clearly some of the NGO’s activities had nothing to do with Sabahans’ rights but were of a personal nature like celebrating the founder’s birthday and the wedding of his children.
