Tuaran: Residents and stall operators who have been living in fear as river erosion is threatening their homes and stalls in Tuaran town are now heaving a sigh of relief thanks to the Tuaran River Riverbanks Protection Works Project.
The affected families and stall operators thanked the State Government for its concern in providing allocation to build a protection wall to prevent further river erosion.
A resident who lives near the riverbank Matnin Jani, 52, said that previously he and three members of his family were not at peace as long as the wall was not built due to the river’s erosion spreading since last year.
