LABUAN: Member of Parliament Datuk Suhaili Abdul Rahman said the Sabahan oil and gas worker who saved a family of seven from a fiery death but lost his life in the process last Wednesday deserves commendation for his bravery.
He expressed profound sadness and hoped both the Federal and Sabah governments would consider education and other assistance necessary for the three children and widow that he left behind.
Suhaili said Gillian Donald from Tawau died a hero’s death and set a fine example of brave sacrifice.
“Many are touched and worried about the family’s future and the best that the Government can do is to ensure that his ultimate sacrifice was not in vain.” He said as the island’s only elected representative he would do his part in easing the family’s plight.
