SANDAKAN: The Magistrate’s Court here discharged and acquitted a local man from the charge of assaulting his grandniece two years ago.

Magistrate Mohammad Azeem Mohd Ridzo made the decision at the end of Roslie Sahal’s defence.

Roslie, 51, was accused of voluntarily causing grievous hurt to the 17-year-old alleged victim on July 19, 2022 at 6.24pm at Jalan Raya Kampung Pampang, Batu 10, here.

He was charged under Section 325 of the Penal Code which provides for a prison sentence of up to seven years and can also be fined.

Roslie was represented by counsel Hamida Ambo.
