Sabah targeting 3 million tourists this year

Kota Kinabalu: The State Tourism, Culture and Environment Ministry (KePKAS) is targeting three million tourist arrivals in Sabah this year.

Its Minister Datuk Christina Liew said her Ministry set the target based on the encouraging achievement made last year.

“We will continue our efforts. As shown in 2023, we achieved the target which we initially set at 2.2 million tourists, but by the end of 2023 a total of 2.6 million tourists visited Sabah.

“I believe this year we will register 2.8 million to three million tourists,” she said, adding her Ministry will strive to achieve the target.

Also present were KePKAS Assistant Minister Datuk Joniston Bangkuai who is also Chairman of the Sabah Tourism Board, KePKAS Permanent Secretary Josie Lai, Sabah Journalists Association (SJA) President Datuk Muguntan Vanar and Kota Kinabalu Journalists Association (KKJA) Chairman Jimmy Goh.
