Kota Kinabalu: Industry players from Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East Asean Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) have reason to rejoice following the commitment of Putrajaya to issue a ferry permit the Kudat-Palawan route.
The stakeholders of the regional grouping said the recent announcement by Transport Minister Anthony Loke was timely and beneficial, particularly to people of Kudat in Sabah and its counterpart in Palawan, Philippines.
Loke said he supports the initiative to issue the permit to boost tourism and other sectors.
He said the proposal by Kudat Member of Parliament Datuk Verdon Bahanda should be realised to enhance socio-economic development in Kudat.
