PUTATAN: A total of 68 food premises participated in the Cleanliness and Cheer Competition organised by the Putatan District Council (MDPTN).
Putatan District Officer, Masawi Salleh, said the competition organised by MDPTN’s Hygiene and Fun Division involved 30 assessors including from the Health Department.
“The assessment involves checking the business licence, health card of the restaurant workers, security, comfort of the dining room, cheerfulness of the landscaping, lighting, cleanliness of the toilets and the kitchen.
“The Health Department also checked aspects of raw material storage, cooking oil waste traps and the way restaurant workers prepare food for customers,” he said when met during the premises assessment process, recently.
Masawi said the competition received positive feedback from the local residents and entrepreneurs.
“There are restaurant owners who get creative with hotel concept decorations. This is definitely an attraction for visitors to enjoy the food served,” he said.
