RANAU: The Mount Kinabalu search and rescue team (Mosar) acted to rescue a 29-year-old Singaporean who suffered a sprained leg while scaling Mount Kinabalu, Sunday.

Ranau Fire and Rescue Department Chief, PPgB Ridwan bin Mohd Taib said the incident happened at KM6.3 of the climbing trail, at about 11.45am.

“The team rushed to the location 1km away from the Mosar post after a mountain guide reported that a climber under his care had fallen while going down to Timpohon gate.

He advised climbers scaling Mount Kinabalu to be extra careful during the current rainy season because the ground surface and rocks are more slippery than during normal weather.
