Kota Kinabalu: Parti Warisan Youth Chief Terence Au said Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe’s recent proposal to employ foreign workers in Sabah’s plantation sector is a flip-flop that ignores Sabahans.

Au said Phoong, who is State Minister of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship, had forgotten his coalition’s vehement opposition to illegal immigrant labour.

Au claimed GRS’ approach is inconsistent and contradicts its pledge to eradicate illegal immigrants during the 16th State Election campaign.

"It’s not just a policy shift; it’s a betrayal of the people’s trust,” he said.

He also called for strict and immediate action against illegal immigrants, warning that any leniency would lead to an uncontrolled surge in undocumented workers.
