PAPAR: WSG Group sponsored a lion dance performance to spread the Chinese New Year festive joy to the pupils and teachers at SK Lingan.
The lion dance performance was requested by the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) of the school, who hoped their 80 pupils and 24 teachers could experience the joy of the Lunar New Year.
WSG Group managing director Datuk Susan Wong Siew Guen and director Melissa Wong personally attended the programme to celebrate the festivities with the school.
SK Lingan is located in a village in Papar about six kilometres away from Pan Borneo Highway.
Due to the lack of Internet access in the area, the pupils had no opportunity to watch dragon, unicorn and lion dance that represent Chinese traditional culture.
The dragon and lion dance performances brought great joy and excitement to the pupils.
Apart from the performance, the mother-daughter duo also gave away ang pows and dragon plush toys to the teachers and pupils.
Melissa coincidentally was born in the year of the dragon.
The WSG Group is currently developing Benoni New Township in Papar.
The township consists of Benoni Commercial Centre and Benoni Gardens Apartment, as well as Parklane City, Parklane Villa and upcoming projects that will significantly stimulate the local economy upon completion.
Also present was headmaster Ag Roslee Ag Damit.
