SANDAKAN: The right of the people to enjoy basic needs such as water, electricity and roads should be the Government’s main agenda.
Parti Warisan President Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Afdal said Sabahans are also Malaysians who should enjoy good and stable basic needs.
He said the time has come for the people of Sabah to enjoy clean water and electricity without any rationing.
“There should be no leakage in appointing a contractor company.
Stop appointing companies that fail to fulfil their trust and duties.
“We are aware of the worrying financial situation of our country, but the Government should not spend hundreds of billions of ringgit in the peninsula, but in Sabah, there is no water,” he said, at a Chinese New Year open house organised by Warisan Sandakan.
Also present were Elopura Assemblyman Calvin Chong, Sekong Assemblyman AliasSani, Gum-Gum Assemblyman Arunarnsin Taib, Tanjung Aru Assemblyman Junz Wong, Sulabayan Assemblyman Datuk Jaujan Sambakong, Sri Tanjung Assemblyman Justin Wong, Libaran MP Datuk Suhaimi Nasir and other local leaders.
Shafie reminded the people to take care of their respective traditions while maintaining the unity that has been enjoyed for a long time.
“This open house celebration is a platform that we can use to foster unity, get to know each other and respect the diversity of traditions in our country,” he said.
