BEAUFORT: Police detained a 35-year-old man for allegedly punching and slapping his wife in a jealous rage while threatening to kill her at Kg Siaun in Menumbok, recently.
The 34-year-old woman, who sustained facial injuries, filed a police report following the 10am incident.
Beaufort District Police Chief DSP Ismail Abdullah said the man was detained at a house here.
Preliminary investigations found that the incident happened in a car in front of the couple’s house.
The man allegedly lost control and began hitting his wife in the face while threatening her life.
The woman suffered injuries to her right cheek and below her brow.
The incident was allegedly prompted by the man’s jealousy, which led him to accuse his wife of cheating.
