Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Maju Jaya Secretariat and the Social Security Organisation (Socso) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) Tuesday to work together under the Social Synergy Programme to strengthen the zero hardcore poverty programme in Sabah.
They would also set the groundwork for long-term cooperation in the programmes to eradicate hardcore poor in the State, which would benefit both parties and the target group.
The MoU also witnessed cooperation in implementing individual and group social synergy programmes for hardcore poverty eradication in Sabah, strategic collaboration with aid agencies in the State, information technology expertise sharing, social security protection awareness programme, job market intervention programme and data sharing.
The collaboration shows the commitment of both parties to strengthening the zero hardcore poverty programme in Sabah through a combination of expertise and technological resources in line with Sabah Maju Jaya Development Plan 1.0: 2021-2025.
The signing ceremony was held at its office on the 15th Floor of Menara Kinabalu, here.
It was signed by SMJ Secretariat Chief Coordinating Officer Datuk Haji (Datu) Rosmadi Datu Sulai, who represented the Sabah Government and Datuk Seri Dr Mohammed Azman Aziz Mohammed, Socso Group Chief Executive Officer.
Also present were SMJ Secretariat Chief Operating Officer Ramlee Kariah and Socso Sabah Director Dr Mohd Ali Hindia.
The SMJ Secretariat stated that the Sabah Government continues to commit to efforts to eradicate hardcore poverty in Sabah by 2024.
The State Government, through the SMJ Secretariat under the Chief Minister’s Department, has been entrusted with leading and coordinating the initiatives and programmes to achieve zero hardcore poverty in Sabah.
