Tenom: The Department of Community Development (Kemas) is going to launch 200 tahfiz nurseries this year statewide.

Sabah Kemas (Early Childhood Education) Deputy Director, Wan Assim Wan Sheikh, hopes Muslim parents will take advantage of the opportunity to enrol their children in tahfiz nursery programmes in Kemas nursery schools across the State, thereby empowering their children’s Al-Quran education.

He said youngsters would be taught to memorise verses from the Al-Quran, and that the project began last year with two classrooms in Sabah.

“Our survey last year showed that they managed to memorise 23 Quran verses within a short period,” he said.
