Kota Kinabalu: Qhazanah Technology Sdn Bhd (QTSB) signed two memoranda of understanding (MoU) between the Sabah Forestry Development Authority (Safoda) and Handal Energy Services Sdn Bhd at Menara Kinabalu.
It was witnessed by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor and State Secretary Datuk Seri Sr. Safar Untong.
The MoU is to conduct a sustainable energy development study in Sabah.
The one with Handal is to conduct a feasibility study, followed by the development of hydroelectric power stations in Sungai Kuamut and Sungai Kinabatangan.
QTSB Chairman Datuk Awang Ahmadsah Awang Sahari expressed gratitude for the support from the Sabah Government in exploring new business segments.
“I hope this signing may bear a positive impact on Sabah’s socio-economy.
“In addition to providing employment opportunities, it is also expected to help the Government in dealing with Sabah’s electricity supply needs to some extent,” he said.
Also present were QTSB Chief Executive Officer Mikail Sungiau Abdullah, Safoda Chairman and General Manager Datuk Hamild Awang and Bahrul Rahza Chuprat, Handal Energy Chairman Datuk Saiful Nizam Mohd Yusoff, General Manager Liew Seong Yan and Executive Director Vivian Xu Tian Tian.
