Averting glaucoma damage
Dr Chin warned that glaucoma damage is permanent and irreversible.
Kota Kinabalu: Glaucoma is the third most common cause of blindness in Malaysia after cataract and diabetic retinopathy.

Globally, 1.1 billion people have an untreated or preventable visual impairment.

 It is advisable for the public to undergo an eye examination with an eye specialist, especially if they have higher risk factors.

“It is important to refrain from using any steroid medications which may cause glaucoma,” said KPJ Sabah Specialist Hospital Resident Consultant Ophthalmologist, Dr Chin Kel Vin.
