Kota Kinabalu: The proposed RM8 million upgrade of the Safma Complex will boost income – especially involving seafood – as it has been struggling to cope with its role in the fisheries industry.
Minister Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan said “outdated” facilities at the complex could not fully cater to fish landings.
He said upgrading works when carried out at the complex would widen the doors for receiving seafood products that have been one of the main contributors to the State’s economy.
