He said support for the party had existed for a long time, but it respected other parties.

“But this time, they (people) requested for it and I came. I see that support from people is really encouraging.

“I hope this will continue as we not only intend to play politics but to fight for our rights, for people and to bring development,” he said, adding that all these are only achievable with unity.

He spoke during the tour in Lahad Datu and Tawau zone in Tungku, recently.

On plans that can be implemented in Tungku, Jeffrey replied that this area has vast and fertile land, which can be used to increase food production in Sabah.

“We can open the land for agriculture or livestock farming as we still lack food. We are still importing rice and meat.

“We need to produce more food, not only rice but also fruits, livestock and others,” he added.

Earlier, in his speech, Jeffrey also emphasised that leaders in Sabah must unite to fight for the people’s rights.

He said the tour would continue to enlighten the people on the struggle for Sabah.

He also extended congratulations to Tungku Star Head of Division, Suling Isib, for successfully organising the tour.
