Pre-Ramadan Blood Donation Campaign tomorrow

Kota Kinabalu: The Pre-Ramadan Blood Donation Campaign will be held at Imago Shopping Mall here for three days beginning tomorrow (Friday).

The campaign chairman, Abdul Kadir Damsal, said it is targeting to collect 350 pints of blood to be distributed to hospitals in Sabah, namely Queen Elizabeth 2 Hospital (QEH2), Sabah Women and Children Hospital Likas and Kudat General Hospital.

He said the campaign is led by Alumni of Mara Junior Science College (Ansara) and Maktab Rendah Sains Malaysia (MRSM) Sabah Chapter in collaboration with government agencies and several non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

“People are most welcome to come and donate their blood from 10am to 5pm for the three days there.

“A person needs lifesaving blood every day in our country and its availability can be the difference between life and death. 

“However, blood is only available, thanks to the generosity of those who roll up a sleeve or show their arm to donate,” he said in a statement, Wednesday.

He said the Pre-Ramadan Blood Donation Campaign was launched in 2007 where 13 different locations throughout Peninsular Malaysia collected 2,160 pints of blood.
