Kota Kinabalu: A 30-year-old man claimed trial to threatening and causing fear to his father.  Mohd Afran Sahiron made the plea before Magistrate Wan Farrah Farriza Wan Ghazali, Friday.

He is accused of threatening to cause hurt to his 55-year-old father at 6pm on Feb 27  at a house in Kg Kepayan Luar, Jalan Simpur Kepayan, here.

Mohd Afran was charged under Section 506 of the Penal Code which provides for a jail term of up to seven years, or fine, or both, on conviction.

The court fixed April 2 for mention and Mohd Afran was offered bail of RM2,500 with two local sureties. Deputy Public Prosecutor Ling Zhin Ling prosecuted while duty counsel Lawrence Lim defended Mohd Afran.
