Forum to mark Malaysia-China relations
Frankie said the State Government has entrusted SCCC with the responsibility of hosting the forum.  
Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) will organise a forum to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Malaysia-China diplomatic relations in November.  

SCCC President Datuk Frankie Liew said the State Government has entrusted SCCC with the responsibility of hosting the forum.

He said this during a banquet hosted by SCCC in Guangzhou, China, which received positive response including from the Malaysia Consul General in Guangzhou Suraya Ahmad Pauzi, who was present.

Suraya said necessary assistance would be provided for the forum.

At the event, Liew also had a meeting with Wu Fenying, a first-level researcher from the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the Guangzhou Municipal Government and Chen Hong, its second-level researcher.

He also met with leaders of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese during the trip.

Liew said the main purpose of the initiative was to establish a platform for cooperation between Sabah and Guangzhou, hoping to promote a series of projects related to trade, tourism and Chinese culture between both.

He hoped SCCC would have deeper mutual interactions with Guangzhou and the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese in the future.
