Tuaran: The Unity Government will continue to provide assistance to the asnaf group without discrimination based on religion, ethnicity, or culture, said Senior Political Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, during his one-day working visit to Tuaran.
Community leaders have compiled a list of those in need to alleviate their burdens, especially the Asnaf group, said Sabah Keadilan Wanita Information Chief Junaidah Makku during Shamsul’s recent visit.
“We understand the difficulties they face due to the increasing cost of goods; therefore, this group should be assisted with various necessities,” she said.
Junaidah said it is our responsibility to help this group, as it aligns with one of the principles of the Unity Government, which ensures that citizens enjoy the benefits of national prosperity.
Shamsul visited several Asnaf families to witness their conditions and donate kitchen items.
“Shamsul had breakfast at Warung Sri Dayang in Kg. Tambalang and interacted warmly with the residents. He also briefly attended a circumcision ceremony in Kg. Tajau before leaving for Kota Kinabalu to attend other programmes,” said Junaidah.
In another event, Shamsul inaugurated the Sepanggar Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) office and paid a courtesy visit to the Police Commissioner.
Also present were Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) Chairman Datuk Wilfred Madius Tangau, Deputy Head of Malaysian Justice Information Razeef Rakimin, Sabah Srikandi Head Intan Nadia Bahrin with her deputy Noraishah Malulur, Head of Tuaran Women, Head of AMK, and community leaders.
