Kota Kinabalu: Police solved two break-ins with the arrest of a labourer in front a petrol station in Kampung Air, here, Wednesday.
Sabah Police Contingent Criminal Investigation Department Special Investigation Division (D7) arrested the 28-year-old at 3.30pm.
Sabah D7 Chief Azmi Abd Rahim said they had received a report from a petrol station at Batu 1, Jalan Tuaran, which was broken into.
He said the suspect made away with the shop’s safe deposit box, mobile phones, cigarettes and cash.
“As a result of investigation, the team managed to locate the suspect and arrested him.
“The suspect admitted to being involved in the case and selling the stolen items to several individuals,” Azmi told reporters.
He said the equipment believed to be used in the crimes were also seized.
Meanwhile, the suspect also confess to being involved in the break-in in an electrical shop in Tenom.
“Investigations are ongoing as it is possible that the suspect is also involved in other criminal cases in the State,” Azmi added.
The case is being investigated according to Section 457 of the Penal Code for burglary.
