Sabahans told to refrain from 3R issues: Nizam
Nizam said such actions on issues related to 3R (Religion, Race and Royal Institutions) would not only damage the principle of unity but also cause the doer(s) to face legal action.
Kota Kinabalu: Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan urged the people of Sabah to refrain from any form of insult to any religion or belief to preserve the long-existing unity in the State.

He said such actions on issues related to 3R (Religion, Race and Royal Institutions) would not only damage the principle of unity but also cause the doer(s) to face legal action.

“This is in line with the warning of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim against those who want to sow the seeds of division and challenge the Constitution,” he said in a statement Monday, in response to the actions of an irresponsible individual who tried to undermine racial harmony by insulting Islam.

“Of course, we cannot compromise with actions that are capable of affecting racial and religious harmony in the State.

“What is important is that Muslims do not do anything unlawful in dealing with this matter. We leave it to the authorities.

I understand that the individual involved has been in police custody for further investigation.
