LABUAN: Sabah PKR (Parti Keadilan Rakyat) appears headed for a crisis with the state election expected mid next year as half the party’s state leadership council members have decided to dig in their heels in favour of current chief, Datuk Dr Sangkar Rasam.
Sabah PKR Secretary Simsudin Sidek said Dr Sangkar’s appointment as the state leadership council chairman adhered to the party’s constitution and received approval from the party’s president, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the Prime Minister.

He said that on Feb. 22, the party restructured all state leadership top posts, with Dr Sangkar assuming the role of Chairman for Sabah.
“Respect must be accorded to decisions made by the party president, Sabah PKR remains robust under Dr Sangkar’s leadership,” he told Daily Express, Tuesday.
