LABUAN: The leading operator of the Labuan-Menumbok roll on-roll off (ro-ro) ferry service welcomed the decision to set up a Special Task Force to relook the proposal to build a bridge between the two points.
Mainland Link Sdn Bhd Chairman Datuk Chin Hong Vui said it is important that the Task Force includes industry experts so that the findings will be reliable and all would accept its decision even if it has a negative impact on the ferry service.
He said with the bridge becoming a reality, ferry service would no longer be relevant as they would not be able to compete with the convenient mode of transportation. “Without traffic volume, we cannot operate.”
The company operates the Kimanis 1,Putra Jaya 1 and Goodwill Star while another company operates Galaxy.
