20,000 pack State Government’s Raya ‘do’
Kota Kinabalu: More than 20,000 guests attended the State Government’s 2024 Aidilfitri Open House at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) on Sunday. 

The annual ceremony was enlivened by the presence of Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Seri Commander (Dr) Norlidah R.M. Jasni.

Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor and his wife Datin Seri Datuk Juliah Salag arrived at 10.15am and delivered Eid donations to 100 asnaf (underprivileged) namely oprhans, special needs and the elderly.

He was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister III sDatuk Ir Shahelmey Yahya who was the event’s organising committee Chairman along with a line of state ministers who spent time interacting with various layers of people who attended.

Shahelmey, when met, said that the presence of guests from various races and religions further strengthened unity of multi-racial Sabah.

“Alhamdulillah, today the Sabah State Government’s Aidilfitri Open House celebration went well.

“What is important is that we can see the presence of people from various backgrounds in Sabah and even tourists who were also present. It is hoped that the Aidilfitri celebrations will continue to unite the people,” he said.
