CHIEF Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the State Government is very serious about helping the people in the State regardless of race and religion.
He said as a State and country with racial and religious diversity, it is very important for the people to continue to improve unity and harmony.
“Don’t let the negative elements disturb the unity and peace we inherited from our ancestors. Use this diversity further to strengthen the relationship between people in the State,” he said at the Malaysia Union Mission (MAUM) Pathfinder Camporee Programme at the Dantai Advent Rest Camp (KIAD) in Lok Nunuk, Tuaran, on April 9.
His speech was read by Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister Datuk Abidin Madingkir.
The first 5-day Pathfinder camp was also attended by 2,300 participants from the Philippines, Thailand, Bangladesh, Singapore, India, Peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak, to foster spiritual, intellectual and social growth among young people.
The Pathfinder Club is a spiritual recreation programme specially designed for teenagers aged 10 to 15 among the Seventh-day Adventist believers, to empower young people, train them for leadership and service to the community and the holistic development of their mind and spirit.
Hajiji said that effective leadership is the foundation of success in facing complex challenges in this increasingly challenging world.
According to him, leadership is not just about titles or power, but more about the responsibility to serve by example that brings inspiration to others.
“Through training and experience in Pathfinder activities, our young people are formed to become leaders who can navigate change, solve problems with creativity and contribute towards a better society,” he said.
He hopes that young people are always eager to reach their true potential, strive to be persistent, positive and proactive individuals in achieving their dreams.
Hajiji believes that the commitment and enthusiasm of the young people who participate in the Pathfinder camp can strengthen brotherhood, cultivate noble values and avoid negative symptoms thus making them a valuable asset to the country.
“Let’s continue to strengthen the spirit of leadership, strengthen our own capabilities and work together as a strong and competitive community,” he said.
