The PKR deputy president said party leaders had been affected by the attacks on Anwar Ibrahim and would do their part to defend their president.
SHAH ALAM: PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli admits he is not as “aggressive” as he used to be in the opposition because he now bears more responsibility being a minister.

Speaking at a dialogue session at PKR’s 25th anniversary special convention, Rafizi, who is also economy minister, said that people had accused him of not being aggressive enough.

He was responding to a question by a delegate about the attacks on PKR president Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

“The effectiveness of a party is not measured by who shouts the loudest. When you’re in the government, there are other factors to consider,” he said.

Rafizi added that party leaders had been affected by the attacks on Anwar and would do their part to defend their president.

“Our biggest task and focus is to administer and rebuild this country. In some matters, greater care is needed to avoid any potential damage to the government.

“There are also matters we need to handle in a way that they don’t go out of control. What is important is the party’s organisation, especially in terms of communications,” he said.

Meanwhile, PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar thanked party members for making police reports over the accusations flung at the party’s leadership.

However, she reminded them not to be hasty in responding to said accusations.
