Seize TVET opportunity, Sabah youths told

KENINGAU: Prospective youth trainees in Sabah need to seize the 500-quota opportunity from the State to participate in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in China this year.

Keningau Giatmara Advisory Chairman cum Community College Advisory Committee Chairman, Nik Mohd Nadzri Nik Zawawi, said this is a golden opportunity for trainees, especially from the Interior.

He was commenting on the statement by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi who said a total of 500 trainees out of 2,000 trainees from all over the country will be recruited from Sabah.

Nik Nadzri said this during the Aidilfitri open house at his residence here, recently.

Zahid said a total of 500 trainees from Sabah would be recruited to participate in the TVET training in China through an offer given to Malaysian students to study in the field.

Zahid said Sabah needs skilled workers in various fields of TVET, especially those based on high technology to meet the needs of the industry and the wishes of investors who come to the State.

Nik Nadzri, who is also Keningau Umno Division Chief, called on youths in the Interior to take this opportunity.
